The previous instalments of this event were absolutely fantastic with a few thousand people attending and hundreds and hundreds of plants finding new homes.  They were also an opportunity to get your hands on some really rare and hard-to-get orchids from some of the world's best nurseries.  So we thought why not do it again?  Mark your calendars for an even bigger event with even more world class orchids and plants.

DATES AND WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT

Our greenhouses will be open to the public on 29- 31 August .  Over the weekend you are welcome to stroll through the greenhouses and take photographs at your leisure.  Our sales area will be open as usual and of course we'll be there to assist you with questions.  We have credit card facilities and we have dedicated staff to help carry items to your car.  There will be bark, fertiliser, baskets and compost for sale too, should you need to stock up on supplies for repotting season.  

There will be additional sales areas for the invitees, where you can buy directly from each vendor.  You can also pre-order from each nursery, by clicking on the links below.  They will have credit card facilities too.

FOOD AND GIN

You can spend time walking through our garden or just relax in the tea garden.  There will be food, sweet treats and drinks for sale.  Our cake now has a bit of a cult following.  We are also super excited to announce that Gin & Co will bring their award winning gins to a pop-up bar in our garden. 

Kids always have a great time exploring the garden and are always welcome.  Dogs (and all pets) are welcome too. We have dogs on the premises, but they have been welcoming to canine friends in the past.  Please keep pets on a leash at all times though.

ENTRANCE FEE - NO RESERVATION REQUIRED

There is ample parking on site and no reservations are required;  we are open to anybody over the weekend.  There is a R20 charge at the gate; kids under 12 enter for free.  The ticket sales will open 30 minutes before the gates open officially.  

PRE-ORDERS FROM INTERNATIONAL VENDORS

Place your pre-orders for plants from each of the nurseries if you want to ensure delivery of something specific. They will of course have plants for sale at their individual booths as well on the day. The following nurseries will be at our Open House,  And remember, they will be here in person, so you can ask questions and buy the plants from them directly.

Acquature Living Art will display some of their exquisite terrariums and will do demonstrations on how best to grow plants in an enclosed environment.  

WHERE ARE WE?

We are based behind Kwanyoni Lodge, about 15 kilometres outside Nelspruit on the N4 towards Johannesburg/Pretoria.  Click here for a map and remember to turn towards Kwanyoni Lodge and to follow the signs from there.  We are NOT based at the Orchid Farm Stall in Alkmaar.  Urna's lovely café and stall is always worth a visit, but if you arrive there, you have passed our turn-off.
